Our organization is dedicated to empowering the Haitian-American community by providing educational, cultural, and social resources. We believe that by investing in individuals today, we are building a stronger, more connected future. Through collaboration and commitment, we create opportunities for personal and collective growth, ensuring that Haitian heritage and values continue to thrive for generations to come.
Who We Are
HAJAX is a non-profit organization incorporated as a 501(c3) in 2024, focusing on community-driven outreach and resource development approaches to empower, support and advocate for the Haitian community in Jacksonville, Florida. The organization responds to the need with a focus on promoting education, providing charitable assistance, and fostering social and economic inclusion.Â
Our Leadership includes a Board with representatives from the public and private sectors. The Chief Executive Officer with the assistance of the management teams as well as a cadre of interns and volunteers. Staff members are fluent in English, French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish, and have a wealth of experience in social services. HAJAX provides such opportunities operating under six (6) Pillars of Service :

Educational Support
Provide educational resources and programs aimed at empowering Haitian individuals and families in Jacksonville including language classes, tutoring services and workshops on topics such as financial literacy and career development
Establish scholarships or grants to support Haitian students pursuing higher education or vocational training
Community Empowerment
Foster a sense of community cohesion and pride through cultural events, celebrations and networking opportunities that showcase Haitian heritage and traditions
Offer mentorship programs or support groups to help Haitian immigrants and refugees navigate the challenges of resettlement and integration into American society
Charitable Assistance
Provide essential services and assistance to meet the basic needs of Haitian individuals and families facing financial hardship, food insecurity or housing instability
Collaborate with local partners and agencies to distribute aid, such as food baskets, clothing and hygiene supplies to those in need
Advocacy and Awareness
Advocate for the rights and interests of the Haitian community in Jacksonville by raising awareness of issues affecting their well-being, such as immigration policy, language access and cultural sensitivity
Engage in advocacy efforts to address systemic barriers to education, healthcare, employment and housing faced by Haitian immigrants and refugees
Capacity Building
Build the capacity of local Haitian-led organizations and community leaders through training, technical assistance and organizational development support
Foster collaboration and partnership among community stakeholders, including nonprofits, government agencies, businesses and faith-based organizations to maximize impact and resources
Long-Term Sustainability
 Develop strategies for long-term sustainability and growth including fundraising initiatives, grant writing and donor cultivation to ensure the organization’s ability to continue serving the Haitian community in Jacksonville for years to come
